Our company has two fully qualified boat builders, both of whom are also qualified marine painters.
We also have another full time qualified marine painter who has experience in painting super yachts and working on large projects. He has experience in applying high quality coatings such as Awlgrip and International Perfection Professional.
Our skills are based on over 60 years experience in the boatbuilding and repair industry, from, in the earlier times, building small plywood dories and repairing large wooden fishing vessels to, in more recent times, dealing with and repairing vessels built from modern materials such as GRP and composite construction .
With more GRP and composite vessels being built now we have moved with the times and expanded into repairs for these types of vessels over the last 20 years.
Being brought up with boats we have the ability to talk to our customers and guide them with the right practical choices when they come to us with any problem they have, whether it is a power or sailing boat.
Mitch is a YNZ yacht inspector and can undertake inspections to enable a yacht to be issued with a safety certificate for racing and also for a pleasure vessel departing NZ for overseas. He also does insurance reports for vessels, something which is becoming more common as insurance companies are becoming more aware of the risks of insuring pleasure vessels without any inspection.
As a repairer & reporter for the insurance industry, we have the skills to undertake & manage jobs that are required when a customer has an insurance claim & needs their vessel repaired.
We do not survey vessels for pre purchase, even though we have the experience, due to the fact that professional indemnity insurance is required for both our protection and the customers in the event something goes wrong. This is very expensive and would require many surveys to be carried out per year to offset the cost. We would rather focus on repair, painting and maintenance. (see link to buying a vessel)
